Dollar Tree sells a variety of beautiful wallpaper designs that are removable. Not only is this renter friendly, but is great for crafting. If you decide later you want a different design on your project, simply remove the wall paper and replace it with another design.

Wallpaper Wood Panel DIY’s

In Dollar Tree’s Plus section, you can find 12″ square wood panels for $3.00 each. I purchased 2.

Front

Stain or paint both frames the color of your choice. I used a brown acrylic paint, once dry, I dry brushed white over it to give it a bit more character. It will also go well with the wallpaper design I chose.

No need to paint the inside of the panel because the wallpaper is pretty thick and you can’t see through it.

Once you have trimmed your wallpaper down to fit within the panel, simply remove the backing of the wallpaper to apply to the inside of the frame.

I paired the panels with a beautiful decor piece I purchased from Hobby Lobby at 50% off the original price.

The Finished Wallpaper Panel DIY

They look beautiful with or without the Hobby Lobby piece.

Decorative Rolling Pin Wallpaper DIY

Wooden rolling pins can be purchased at thrift stores, Wal-Mart, or Dollar General for a few dollars. Or perhaps you already have some that your not using. By simply adding wallpaper, you can have a custom decor piece. ***This is for decorative use only*** Since we are using removable wallpaper, you can simply remove the paper later if you decide you want to use your rolling pin for cooking.

The wallpaper sheet is large enough to cover two rolling pins, or you could use two different designs like I did.

I chose to leave the handles a natural wood color and placed the wallpaper 1/4″ from each end of the rolling pin.

Which one do you prefer, the eucalyptus or the butterflies with flowers?

Decorative Wallpaper Tray DIY

Typically you can find silver oval or rectangular trays at Dollar Tree. These make great magnet boards to add to your desk area.

In addition to magnet boards, you could use them as a decor piece or a decorative tray. I painted the oval tray in a Mineral Chalk Paint, once dry I dry brushed White Chalk Paint over the edges to bring our the beautiful detail. **If you choose to paint your tray, I recommend spray painting or using a chalk paint to make sure it adheres to the metal. If using chalk paint, add a layer of Mod Podge over the dry paint to ensure the paint doesn’t chip off.**

Finally, add the wallpaper of your choice.

Stylish as a decor piece or as a tray.

Elegant Wallpaper DIY’s

Wrapping a battery operated LED candle with wallpaper can really elevate your decor. I DO NOT recommend adding this to a real candle.

Great accent piece to compliment the first project.

Transform an ordinary glass vase into a statement piece!

Place artificial or real florals for a classy look.

10 Easy To Do Farmhouse Tier Tray and Riser Diy’s

Using tier trays and risers can really take your decorating style up a notch. However, they can be quite expensive. Here are 10 budget friendly do it yourself tier trays and risers. I hope you get tons of inspiration. If you would like to see the full step by step video tutorial, make sure to click on my YouTube video at the end.

Riser # 1 is made using a Dollar Tree cake pan, painted to look like galvanized metal. The base is a ceramic candle holder sitting atop a round plastic container from Dollar Tree, painted a distressed white. This riser can give height in your decor and can be decorated in many different ways.

Riser # 2 is gorgeous! Using two wood rounds from Wal-Mart at $1 a piece, glue wooden beads between the two. I purchase my wooden beads from Amazon here: https://amzn.to/3Kqtt0r

The base is a glass candle holder from Dollar Tree painted with white chalk paint and then antique wax added to the entire riser. I love how this turned out, and only cost a few dollars to make.

Riser # 3, is a painted version of riser # 2. Using a distressing paint technique with white chalk paint, you can customize this riser to fit into your color theme.

Riser # 4 has a unique shape. Most risers you see are round or rectangular. Here you have two hexagon shaped risers to give your decor a more modern look. The one on the left has a Dollar Tree candle holder as its base while the one on the right has wooden beads on each corner.

Riser # 5 has a classic look that never goes out of style. This piece is all wood. Using a wood round from Dollar Tree’s Plus section and wooden beads as feet, all stained with Antique wax, gives this riser such a gorgeous finish.

Riser # 6 is stunning! Removing the feet from the previous riser and combining this with riser # 4 (the hexagon riser), takes these two pieces to another level of beauty. The crisp white of the base combined with the beauty of the wood is simply gorgeous.

#7 is a 3 tiered tray that can serve as not only home decor, but can be functional for organizing. It is made from three wooden trays from Dollar Tree and paint stir sticks!

You can use this on your kitchen counter to hold snacks, or on your bathroom counter to organize some of your smaller items.

#8 has to be one of my favorites. This two tier rectangular tray is made from old wooden picture frames, and a wooden leg from a 1980’s coffee table. You can display much larger items, and change the decor out for every season.

#9 is a beauty made from scrap wood pieces. It is sturdy and made to last. I have the decal used here as a free PDF printable (click on the free printable link in the menu). You can print this onto copy paper and use the transfer method onto your project.

#10 is another favorite. It is made from the wooden panels from the Dollar Tree Plus section. Each panel costs $3. An old candle stick is used as the base between the two and 4 wooden beads added as feet. Another nice size tier tray.

Mini Farmhouse Cabinet

This mini farmhouse cabinet was made from mostly Dollar Tree items, and the barn door actually slides from left to right! Here are the instructions on how you can create one for yourself. If you prefer to watch the in depth step by step tutorial, my YouTube video is at the bottom of this post. There you will find a couple more farmhouse décor projects that turned out just as cute. Don’t forget to click the follow button here to get notifications about new posts.

Step 1: I used 3/8″ dowels and 1/4″ dowels to create handles.
Cut 3 one inch long pieces from the 3/8ths dowel, and (6) 1/4″ long pieces from the 1/4″ dowel.
Glue 2 of the smaller pieces to the one inch piece to make a handle. Create three handles.
Step 2: Use three wooden boxes with the drawer inserts from Dollar Tree.
Glue the three outer boxes to each other using wood glue with the openings facing you.
Paint the drawers and handles white.
Place the drawers back into the outer boxes with the original cut out designs in the back. It should look like this. Find the center of each drawer and glue the handles on.
Step 3: Use two wooden trays from Dollar Tree and (8) 3/4″ wood cubes (also from Dollar Tree). Glue two of the cubes together to make 4 sets of two.
Glue one set of the wood cubes to the inside of the tray on both sides. Make sure they are centered and pushed to the back of the tray.
They should look like this.
Step 4: Cut down two craft sticks. Glue one to the front of each tray.
Cut some giant craft sticks (from Wal-Mart) to glue to the top and bottom of each wood cube set.
This will create a nice finished shelf.
Step 5: Glue the two trays together using wood glue. I also added a little hot glue, this will hold it together while the wood glue sets up.
Step 6: Cut and glue craft sticks to the top of the two trays as well as the inside bottom of the two trays.
This will give it a nice finished wooden slat look.
Use a wooden plaque (this one is from Wal-Mart).
Step 7: Cut and glue craft sticks to the top, bottom, and both sides to create a frame.
Then measure and cut out the angles to create the X that will go in the middle.
Once you glue those down, it should look something like this.
Step 8: Drill a hole in the center of 4 Dollar Tree wood cubes. Make sure you drill all the way through.
Glue one of the wood cubes on each side of the two trays on the top at the edge. Make sure the holes are facing the sides of the trays.
This is showing the back side of the trays with the wood cubes on each end at the top. Then you will glue the other two wood cubes to the back of the barn door. Makes sure all the holes are facing the same direction. This will be how the door rests on top of the cabinet.
Step 9: Give everything a couple coats of white paint.
I like the distressed look, so I dry brushed gray paint on all of the pieces.
Step 10: Glue the two trays with the openings facing forward to the top of the three drawers. Make it flush to the back of the cabinet.
It should look like this. I painted a metal garden stake that I popped the sign off of (from Dollar Tree) as well as two beads. This will make the track for our door.
Since I used chalk paint, I am going over the entire piece with clear sealing wax. This will protect the paint, but also help the door to slide better.
Step 11: Sit the door on top of the trays so the wood cubes on the back of the door are resting on top of the trays.
Now you can slide your garden stake through each of the wood cubes.
Step 12: Glue a wood bead to each end of the garden stake. Not only does this keep the garden stake from coming out, it gives the piece a finished touch.

Now you have the cutest mini Farmhouse cabinet with a functioning barn door!
